Let’s start off by explaining some of the history about Bluehost. Bluehost has been providing quality web hosting solutions to ourselves, businesses, and individuals since 1996. Their goal is to provide outstanding services for the best possible price. To achieve these goals, they are constantly innovating and upgrading their services at no additional cost to their customers.
We can confirm this exact thing! When we first heard about Bluehost was around 2002 and we heard about them through a friend who was an expert with web hosting. We created our very first website with them and it was smooth sailing the entire process. Back then, no one really offered Unlimited Bandwidth and Bluehost took a leap of faith and started offering such things at an affordable price. That is one of the many reasons they are the most reputable hosting company to this day. Come and join the millions of other website owners that have already chosen Bluehost and see how they can help you with your site by clicking here.
With that being said, We are providing you with a step by step guide on how to create a website online with Bluehost. From the very start to the completion of your order, we will be here to guide you through the process.
Step 1 – Make Sure You Are On Bluehost.com
In order to make sure you are on Bluehost, we have provided you a link right here. One more step to confirm that you are on Bluehost.com is to check the top of your web browser and make sure it looks like this:
Now that you have confirmed you are on the correct website, we can move on to the next step.
Step 2 – Sign Up To Bluehost
Since we know that you are on the homepage of Bluehost.com, we know your screen should look like this.
Click on the Image to make it larger if need be
What you want to do right now is click on “Sign Up Now >”
After you clicked to sign up, you should be brought to a domain name screen. The first part of this page states “Thank you for choosing Bluehost. You have made the right choice in selecting us as your web hosting and eBusiness provider. We provide excellent customer service, reliable hardware and affordable prices. We appreciate your business and look forward to a great relationship”.
Step 3 – Registering Your Domain Name With Bluehost
Right after this quote from them you will notice two boxes. One of those boxes says “I Need a Domain Name” and the other box says “I Have a Domain Name”. The one we want to focus on is the “I Need a Domain Name” box unless of course you do in fact have a URL already purchased.
Type the desired Domain Name in the box “I Need a Domain Name”
Obviously that URL I chose, “How to Create a Website Online .com” is taken. We wanted to show you what happens when the Domain Name you want is unavailable because chances are that will happen to you too.
This is what it will look like if your Domain name of choice is Unavailable
Your domain name being taken isn’t the worst thing that could happen and Bluehost actually helps you out and suggests you alternatives that happen to be available which we think is fantastic. It’s almost as if they are thinking for you in case you have a brain freeze. For this tutorial we decided to make it easy on us and just select one of the suggestions. We chose “How to Create a Website Group .com” and this is what happens after you select your domain name.
Now we’re talking! The domain name we picked is now available and this is the same thing you would see if it was available the first time around. Make sure you look at this very closely because this is what your URL is going to be. Be careful of typos and mistakes because once you purchase it, you own it.
Step 4 – Fill Out Your Bluehost Account Information
This is pretty much the final step, filling out your account information. Filling out your information is pretty much self explanatory but also make sure you pay close attention and properly fill out all the fields.
Make sure you use all your real information because you are making a purchase and it is illegal for you to use fraudulent information. Now that you filled out all your proper information, we can go to the next step.
Step 5 – Web Hosting Package (What We Recommend)
Bluehost wants to know which package you are going to go with. For now, we suggest you take the cheapest package because you can always upgrade in the future and it is still an excellent plan to go with. We have multiple websites under the cheaper package deal with Bluehost and we have zero complaints. However, it really is up to you, if you want a “beefier” package then we say go right ahead!
Here is the settings we would select:
If you noticed we have unchecked every box except for one, the Domain Whois Privacy box. We HIGHLY suggest you pay the cheap yearly fee of $9.99 to keep your information protected. If you chose not to select this option, anybody can look up your websites WHOIS information and find out everything about you. They have access to your Name, Email Address, Phone Number, and your House Address! If you pay for the “Domain Whois Privacy” with bluehost, they will screen all your information to them. Instead of your personal information, it will give them the address for Bluehost.
The final step is to just enter your payment method and that’s it!
They offer you a money back guarantee as well and we have never had credit card or banking issues hosting with them. You have our word that it is secure.
After you enter in the billing information, check off the box to agree to their terms and conditions.
After you check off your confirmation, hit “Next” and your done!
